Electron spectra from 5-10 keV Li + -Ne, Li-Ne, Na + -Ne and Na-Ne collisions have been measured. The Wigner spin-conservation rule causes marked differences between the spectra from neutral and ionic systems. Fifteen lines arising from doubly excited neon levels have been observed. The experimentally determined level energies are found to be in good agreement with recent calculations by Sichel and Langlois (1977).
