“To establish a scholarship named after Pushkin...”: quality of life and material support of students in the 19 thcentury .

On the basis ofarchival materials and memoirs is represented the quality of life of the students of St. Petersburg University in the first half of the 19th century. It is shown that the system of state material support through various grants was a special process for correcting the social heterogeneity in community of students.
