Infrared and Mössbauer measurements on spinel ferrites of the Ni1–x—yFe+ZnyFe+O4 system have been made. As a result from the analysis, it is supposed that Fe2+ ions are present in both the octahedral and tetrahedral lattice sites of the compounds investigated.
