Genomic analysis reveals a 416.4 Mb chromosome-level assembly for Homalothecium mandonii, highlighting a key resource for conserving endemic Macaronesian bryophytes.
The reference genome of Homalothecium mandonii provides an important resource for studying the genetic basis of adaptation and conservation of Macaronesian endemic bryophytes. The entirety of the genome sequence was assembled into 10 contiguous chromosomal pseudomolecules, along with one mitochondrial genome and one chloroplast. This chromosome-level assembly encompasses 416.4 Mb, composed of 45 contigs and 20 scaffolds, with contig and scaffold N50 values 23.3 Mb and 38.8 Mb, respectively.
