From the equilibrium swelling of lightly crosslinked glycol monomethacrylate polymers in water and normal alcohols (C1 to C10) and in water‐alcohol mixtures it has been possible to draw conclusions regarding the molecular arrangements created by the specific interaction between polymer and sorbate molecules in these systems. The interaction has also been discussed in terms of the solubility parameter concept extended to systems in which hydrogen bonding is operative.
