Activity–composition relations in CaO–MnO and MgO–MnO solid solutions were determined by equilibrating oxide solid solutions with platinum–manganese alloys under controlled oxygen partial pressures at 1500° and 1600°C. Both systems show considerable positive deviation from ideality.
