Two specific aspects of a fully dynamical relativistic one‐step model of photoemission from solid surfaces are discussed which turn out to be crucial for the development of an explicit calculational scheme: (i) The evaluation of the single‐ and double‐contributions to the bulk transition matrix elements is demonstrated and (ii) it is shown how a realistic effective one‐dimensional image‐potential surface barrier can be taken into account within the relativistic formalism.
