Recent Work on the Synthesis of Phosphonate-containing, Bone-active Heterocycles

A-New approaches to the design and synthesis of bone anciresorptive phosphonares have led to the discovery of the cyclic bisphosphonate series and the ph~spho~oalkylph~sphinafs heterocyclic series.The latter class, which offers substraces for interesting dianion chemistry, has been shown to include effecrive bone-accive isosferes of the well known bisphosphonates.
