Multiphase pumping technology developed during the Poseidon research programme, and now commercially available from Sulzer Pumps, is gaining widespread acceptance and recognition throughout the oil industry. Significant successes have been enjoyed with helico-axial multiphase pumps, having been deployed onshore and offshore in a variety of environments and climates such as the Middle East, South East Asia or in the North Sea. This article focuses on one installation currently in operation in Siberia.
