A description is given of a neodymium-glass laser spectrometer with a dispersive resonator. This spectrometer operates in the 9230–9520 cm –1 range with a resolution between 0.1 and 0.02 cm –1 and can be used to detect absorption characterized by a coefficient of 10 –7 cm –1 . This spectrometer was used to obtain a low-resolution record of the P branch of the 12 0 3 band, the 04 0 3 band, and the "hot" 13 1 3→01 1 0 transition in carbon dioxide gas as well as the absorption spectra of atmospheric air and water vapor. A high-resolution record was obtained of the edge of the 04 0 3 band and the distances between the lines were measured.
