Measurements of the slope of the travel-time curve have been made on events in the distance range 25°–95° from the Gauribidanur Seismic Array. Corrections to the onset times at individual points of the array have been applied to the raw data. Assuming the Jeffreys-Bullen (JB) model of the Earth up to a depth of 700 km, a velocity structure below 700 km is deduced. The resulting model is compared with other models.
