It is revealed in microwave-plasma interaction experiments that a large-amplitude electrostatic wave propagating obliquely to a magnetic field accelerates electrons strongly almost along the magnetic field lines via the process of Vₚ×{}B acceleration. The experimental results are in reasonable agreement with the theoretical prediction of Sugihara et al.
