Detailed measurements are made of the temperature dependence of four transport effects in CdTe: the electric conductivity, the Hall effect, the thermoelectric Seebeck effect (a), and the transversal Nernst‐Ettingshausen effect. (Q). The first two effects have been used for the determination of theoretical values of α and Q. The great discrepancy between experimental and theoretical values of α and Q is explained using Plâvitu's theory of the phonon drag effect of carriers in ionic crystals.
