In urban rail transit systems using communication-based train control (CBTC), leaky waveguide has been used as the propagation medium for the viaduct scenarios, as it can provide better performance and stronger anti-interference ability than free space. Based on the measurements of leaky waveguide, a model of CBTC radio channel with leaky waveguide is proposed in this letter. Our model shows that the large-scale fading is linear, and the path-loss exponent can be approximated by the transmission loss of leaky waveguide. The small-scale fading follows Log-normal distribution. In addition, the corresponding parameters of Log-normal distribution are also determined from the measurement results.
