The conversion of 7α-H3-dehydroisoandrosterone to its sulfate ester by homogenates of an adrenocortical carcinoma is described. 7α-H3-dehydroisoandrosterone sulfate was characterized by its chromatographic behavior in 2 partition systems and its reaction with the methylene blue reagent for sulfates. The conjugate was recrystallized to constant specific activity and its identity was further established by its infrared spectrum. The steroid moiety was obtained by solvolysis and was identified as dehydroisoandrosterone by infrared analysis and recrystallization to constant specific activity.
