Ni(II)-2-Vinyl-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin reacts with 1,4-naphthoquinone and 1,4benzoquinone to afford mixtures of rigid porphyrin-quinone derivatives with extended πsystems.The structures of these novel compounds were deduced from detailed NMR experiments.
