Hyperfine fields in very dilute alloys of Fe in Ni 3 Al and Ni 3 Ga have been measured by the Mossbauer effect. The effective moments, determined by Brillouin fits, were studied as a function of the host composition. The maximum values observed were 39 mu B for Ni 3 Al and 84 mu B for Ni 3 Ga which are the highest reported for both systems.
