Infrared reflection spectra of the fluoperovskite BaLiF 3 have been measured in the range 20-4000 cm -1 at several temperatures. Frequencies, dampings, and oscillator strengths of the three polar-phonon modes are reported. The polar-mode contribution to the dielectric constant has been calculated and compared with frequency dielectric measurements. All these results indicate that BaLiF 3 is one of the least anharmonic and most stable fluoperovskites.
