A novel ultraviolet (UV)‐curable monomer α,ω‐dichloropolysiloxane was synthesized by the telomerization of dichlorodimethylsilane and octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4). The products with very low peel strength (<0.332 N/cm) could be used as release agents in pressure‐sensitive adhesives. Moreover, the values of the dispersion component of surface energy (γ ) from the films of UV‐curable prepolymers (26.40–33.75 mJ/m2) were determined and the effects of γ on the reduction of adhesion were investigated.
