Burning velocity, flame temperature and thickness of the reaction zone have been measured in different cyanogen/oxygen/nitrogen and hydrogen cyanide/oxygen/ nitrogen mixtures. Some measurements have been made also on C2N2/O2/N2 mixtures with addition of hydrogen. Kinetical parameters have been derived: activation energy and reaction order. A kinetical mechanism has been proposed which is based on observations made by others in some studies using the technique of flash photolysis.
