Results are reported from tests of four cultivars of barley against samples of the Australian population of Heterodera aveszae using a single cyst monoxenic culture method. Evidence is presented which suggests that the population may be composed of more than a single pathotype. The varieties Marocaine 079 and Sabarlis were classed as resistant to all isolates so far tested, but No. 191 was susceptible to a portion of the same population.
