Viscosity and electrical conductivity are two important physical properties for aluminosilicate melts, but their composition and temperature dependences are very complex because of the amphoteric behaviour of Al2O3. In general, these two properties in literatures are given separately. In the present article, the relationship between the two is studied, from which it can be seen that the logarithm of viscosity varies linearly with the logarithm of conductivity under the condition that the mole fraction of basic oxide is higher than that of Al2O3. This simple relation will be very useful when the one of the data is unavailable.
