High enantioselectivity was observed for the Pseudomonas cepacia lipase-catalyzed hydrolysis of (E)-allylic acetate 1 and propargylic acetate 2 in an acetone–water solvent system, while (E)-homoallylic acetate 3 and homopropargylic acetate 4 gave poor enantioselectivity.
