SUMMARY Infectious laryngotracheitis was responsible for the deaths of two pheasants and a peafowl in a zoological garden in Winnipeg, Canada. Clinical signs were seen in several other peafowl and domestic chickens. Prophylactic vaccination of unaffected birds with a modified live virus vaccine induced upper respiratory disease that was severe in some cases.
