Should not yet alter Holter monitoring practices; hypothesis-generating for enhanced ECG data compression techniques.
ECG data compression is one of the important techniques for tapeless Holter recorders. Researchers try to get the highest compression ratio (CR) and better quality of the reconstructed ECG. Using the improved linear approximation distance thresholding (LADT) algorithm, a higher CR can be obtained. To get even higher CR, a study on encoding of compressed ECG data for solid-state Holter recorders is presented in this paper.

Li et al. (1996) studied ECG data compression. Encoding of compressed ECG data using improved LADT algorithm was evaluated on Compression ratio (CR) and quality of reconstructed ECG. An improved linear approximation distance thresholding (LADT) algorithm and encoding method for compressed ECG data can achieve a higher compression ratio for solid-state Holter recorders.
