This edition of the International Journal of Palliative Nursing features a comment piece on an issue that has been debated with strong arguments on both sides – the electronic tagging of people with dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society have spoken out in favour of the proposal, which aims to prevent the more vulnerable patients with dementia who ‘wander’ due to their illness and allow families to keep track of their relatives who may put themselves in danger by disappearing with no way of tracing where they have gone or means of getting them back to the safety of their homes and loved ones.
