The dielectric behaviour of ferroelectric hydrogen-bonded deuterated betaine phosphite crystals is investigated in the frequency range up to 4 GHz. The dielectric dynamics of Debye type shows a critical slowing-down of the polarization fluctuations. The frequency of the relaxational soft mode in the para-electric phase varies according to νs = 0·2(T - 295.8) GHz and decreases to 0·55 GHz at TC = 298 K.
