In recent years, the Norwegian approach to doping has focused on prevention. This essay attempts to examine and describe the ethical justification of the Norwegian anti-doping work and determine whether recent anti-doping work has been successful in educating Norwegian athletes. Also examined are the reasons that motivate athletes to use doping and the direction that Norwegian sport has taken over the past 15 years to prevent doping in sport. Norway considers itself a leader in working on both elite athletes' and the general public's attitudes toward doping in sport, fair play and cheating. This essay tentatively concludes that the anti-doping information is making an impact among its audience and significantly affecting the majority of elite athletes' attitudes toward doping.
