A case of pulmonary paracoccidioidomycosis is described. This case and others in the U. S. established the occurrence of asymptomatic latent periods. They also suggest reactivation of the infection as an endogenous reinfection. Amphotericin B, even in suboptimal doses, was shown to cause a prompt disappearance of the organism from the sputum and roentgenographic improvement.
