The importance of health status as a determinant of labor supply has been documented in several empirical studies [1; 2; 6; 11; 13]. Other recent findings [12] indicate that an individual's hours of work depend upon the health status of both the individual and his or her spouse. In this paper we consider another aspect of the link between family members' health and individual labor supply, namely, the effect of children's health on maternal hours of work.
