The vibration spectrum of aluminium is studied using Krebs's model. The phonon dispersion curves for the three symmetry directions [100], [110] and [111] are presented and are found to be in very good agreement with neutron scattering measurements. The (θ ‐ T)‐curves calculated from Krebs's model agree very well with experiment using a screening parameter deduced from the Bohm‐Pines theory.
