The dielectric measurements for the system of benzyl alcohol-dioxane and that of phenol-dioxane, respectively, were carried out by using benzene as the solvent. The induced polarization of the π-electrons in the latter system was evaluated based on some assumptions. From these, the additional moments due to delocalization were estimated and the weights of the structure III were evaluated for both systems.
