A conventional epoxy resin derived from Bisphenol A has been modified with aromatic diacids containing a preformed imide ring in order to achieve an improvement in their thermal properties. These new resins were characterized by IR and 13C‐NMR spectroscopy, and it was possible to verify two types of oxirane ring openings by diimide‐diacid.
