The conversion of 2(3H)-furanthiones 3 and thiopyrrolines 4 into heterocyclic systems of synthetic and biological importamce viz. Thiodcrylic acid hydrazide 5, thiopyridazinone 7, thioacrylamide 8, and N-benzylthiopyrroline 9 derivatives were reported for the first time.
