Key result
Myxoma resection and anomalous coronary artery ligation resolves coronary steal symptoms and normalizes stress tests.
Why the study?
Coronary steal is a rare phenomenon typically seen after coronary artery bypass grafting with subclavian artery stenosis, and its occurrence due to a highly vascularized atrial myxoma had not been previously reported.
Comparison
Before and after ligation of anomalous coronary arteries and resection of atrial myxoma

May support surgery for myxoma-related coronary steal; hypothesis-generating from single case.
Case Report (n=1)
This case demonstrates that a highly vascularized atrial myxoma can cause coronary steal and objective ischemia, which is reversible with surgical resection.
Stiver et al. (2015) conducted a case report in Left atrial myxoma causing coronary steal (n=1). Ligation of anomalous coronary arteries and resection of the mass was evaluated on Resolution of symptoms and normalization of cardiac stress test. Surgical resection of a highly vascularized left atrial myxoma and ligation of anomalous coronary arteries resolved symptoms of coronary steal and normalized cardiac stress test results.
