NH as the catalyst, for the activation of trichloroacetimidate donors is described. This O-glycosylation proceeds with stereospecific inversion of the donor configuration. The scope of the protocol has been investigated using common glycosyl donors reacting with simple alcohols as well as sugar acceptors.
