Stroke is one of the leading causes of mortality and disability globally.1 In an acute ischemic stroke, every minute of delayed treatment results in the loss of millions of neurons, highlighting the critical importance of acting quickly, often described by the phrase “time is brain”.2 Delay in Door-to-Puncture or in Door-to-Reperfusion time can lead to over two hours of healthy life-time lost per second of treatment delay,3 and conversely, an early treatment is protective with 39 days of disability-free life gained, on average, for every 10 min of earlier treatment.
