Review reveals emerging ecotoxicological risks from electronics-derived high-tech elements and nanoparticle coronas, highlighting the need for advanced omics monitoring.
An analysis of new challenges and ecotoxic risks that form due to the release of high-tech elements Pt, Rh, Pd, Ga, and Ir, and platinum-group elements as a result of the widespread development of the electronics industry is presented. The hazardous effects of nanoforms of elements and the appearance of a “molecular corona” around metal particles are considered. New technologies (omics technologies) for studying the consequences of pollution are substantiated, which provide a more accurate understanding of the ecotoxic properties of metals and metalloids in the environment, as well as the remote effects of the appearance of the consequences of pollution and new hazardous elements in biogeochemical provinces, their complex influence.
