Three macrocyclic Schiff bases have been synthesized by [2+2] condensation of 2,6‐pyridinedicarbaldehyde with 1,4,7‐triazaheptane, 1,5,9‐triazanonane and 1,5‐diazapentane. Another Schiff base was synthesized by [1+1] condensation of the dicarbaldehyde with 1,5,9‐triazanonane. They were reduced with NaBH4 of the corresponding saturated octaaza, hexaaza and tetraaza polyamines.
