Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy demonstrates Tomonaga–Luttinger liquid behavior in lednevite mineral, indicating unconventional quasi-one-dimensional electronic conductivity.
We report nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) studies on lednevite mineral Cu[PO 3 (OH)] ⋅ H 2 O. Nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate reveals signature of one-dimensional Tomonaga–Luttinger liquid (TTL) behavior. In particular, over a wide temperature range, it is consistent with theoretical predictions for Tomonaga–Luttinger liquid: 1/ T 1 T ( T ) ~ T (1/2 K ) – 2 , with a Luttinger parameter, K = 0.27(3), and negative exponent – a hallmark of Tomonaga–Luttinger liquid spin dynamics. This finding provides a microscopic evidence for unconventional quasi-1D conductivity in lednevite mineral.
