The frequency distribution of lattice vibrations in Na were calculated on the Born-von Karman theory using force constants obtained from neutron inelastic scattering experiments and considering general interactions out to fifth neighbors. Several critical and saddle points of the distribution function were identified, and the specific heat and equivalent Debye temperature of Na were calculated from the results. (D.C.W.)
