The behavior of a model chemical system related to absolutely asymmetric synthesis is investigated. This model system includes stereospecific and autocatalytic processes. Especially, the effect of incomplete stereospecific discrimination on the behavior is examined in detail. This chemical system can provide an absolutely asymmetric synthesis even though the stereospecific processes distinguish incompletely the d and l forms of the isomers. Moreover, the role of spatial diffusion is discussed, and it is shown that, if a local excess of either optically active isomer is created by chance, it would be grown and spread in space, annihilating another isomer.
