SYNOPSIS A review has been undertaken of the numerical computation of air movement and convective heat transfer within buildings. The fundamental conservation equations together with a turbulence model are described, and a numerical procedure for solving the elliptic partial differential equations is outlined. The literature on the subject, spanning the past twelve years, is reviewed. Attention is briefly drawn to examples of the use of numerical air movement codes.
