Interaction of atomic particles with solid surfaces. VI. Auger neutralisation of positive ions

For pt.V see ibid., vol.14, p.2995 (1981). The process of Auger neutralisation of slow positive ions on metal surfaces is considered within the dipole approximation of the inter-electron interaction. An asymptotically correct expression for the transition probability per unit time is derived, and calculations are performed for the He + -W(100) system.
