The hyperglycemic, eosinopenic and adrenal suppressive potencies of dexamethasone in man were all found to be similar to the previously reported anti‐inflammatory potency of this drug (about 5 to 8 times those of prednisolone and 25 to 30 times those of hydrocortisone). Dexamethasone (1.5 mg. three times daily) produced a slight antidiuresis of sodium, chloride and water of equivocal significance. A marked but transitory potassium diuresis occurred. Excretion of urinary magnesium was unaffected.
