In this study, the applicability of citrus pomace for manufacturing a functional pulp mold was evaluated. The morphological properties of the citrus pomace generated after the orange juice extraction process were investigated. Since the citrus pomace had a significant amount of fine materials and solubles, which would not be suitable for the pulp mold process, fractionation of the citrus pomace depending on the size by using the 200 mesh screen was conducted. After the flake fraction over 20 mesh was treated by using laboratory kneader, the citrus pomace was divided into the fiber fraction and the fine and soluble fraction. The higher addition of the fiber fraction of the citrus pomace resulted in the lower bulk and drying efficiency of the pulp mold samples because of the irregular size distribution. The fine and soluble fraction of the citrus pomace was applied as surface coating materials to the pulp mold after the concentration of the fraction. The surface treatment of the fine fraction on the pulp mold would showed the endowment of the functional properties such as the citrus scent and color.
