Farming is a risky business. Among the many risk factors, plant disease is an important one due to its close relation to climate and yield. Part of the proceedings of “Managing Risk to Minimize Crop Loss,” a symposium organized by the Plant Disease Losses and Regulatory Committees of APS. Accepted for publication 27 March 2003. Published 13 November 2003.
