The charge exchange collision (3.5 keV amu -1 ) between Ne 7+ and H 2 has been studied by VUV spectroscopy. Absolute cross sections have been measured. The 1s 2 2pnl configuration is excited in addition to the core-conserving electron capture (1s 2 2snl).
