For pt.I see ibid., vol.9, p.505 (1979). The electrical resistivities rho of liquid La, Gd and Lu are calculated in the following way: using phase shifts of muffin-tin potentials for liquid La, Gd and Lu the authors evaluate Fermi energy, total and partial densities of states in a single-site approximation. For calculating rho modified single-ion potentials are then constructed taking into account some many-body effects in a simple way. The results for rho are in good agreement with experiment, the increase from La to Lu being due to an increase in the effective number of conduction electrons.
