The paper presents a cartographic travel through the incaic structures of El Shincal, its findings and relationships. It also takes into account some general considerations about site location and construction, to finally enter in the meaning and scope of notion of chakana compiled through bibliographic sources and ethnographic approach. The latter consisted mainly in the realization semi structured interviews to local inhabitants and to some cusqueños indigenist referents living in Argentina. As archaeological methodologies were carried out field prospections, analysis of satellite images and exhaustive mapping whit in situ detailed information. Final reflections propose to cross data sources for interpreting spatial considerations about site in function of chakana symbol, doing it through multisituated and multitemporal approach. The papers try to be a contribution to the proposal of the ethnographic archaeology that invites to the knowledge production between different disciplinary camps.
